What this site is
seasonmap.io visualizes weather model output, observations, and analyses from public agency sources (NOAA, ECMWF, DWD, ECCC, the Met Office, NASA, and others), alongside an in-house model whose skill is scored in public. It is an informational tool.
Not a warning service
Do not use this site as your sole source for life-safety decisions. Forecasts are uncertain by nature — that uncertainty is the point of half the products here — and data feeds can lag or fail (the status page shows exactly how fresh everything is). For warnings and emergency decisions, use official channels: the National Weather Service (weather.gov), NOAA Weather Radio, and local emergency management.
No warranty
The site is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind — express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose. We work hard on correctness and publish our verification openly, but we do not guarantee availability, accuracy, or timeliness, and we are not liable for decisions made from this data.
Data and attribution
Underlying model and observational data belong to their originating agencies and are used under their open-data terms (see about for the full source table, including Met Office data © Crown copyright, used under the Open Government Licence). seasonmap's derived products — renderings, composites, the in-house CAESAR model output, and verification statistics — may be shared for personal, educational, and research use with attribution to seasonmap.io. Automated bulk scraping of the data endpoints is not permitted; if you want programmatic access, get in touch instead.
Acceptable use
Don't attempt to disrupt the service, circumvent rate limits, or misrepresent seasonmap output as an official government product. The site assistant answers questions about this site's data and products; it is not a substitute for official forecasts either.
Changes
These terms may change as the site grows (for example, if API access becomes a product). Material changes will be noted on the what's new page with the date above updated.
